Double Fine to use 'Kickstarter' to fund traditional Adventure Game

Double Fine continues to impress. Today the developer has revealed it will use 'Kickstarter' to fund traditional Adventure game. By that I mean they will seek funding to develop an 'old-school graphic adventure'.

Pretty unbelievable but awesome. Double Fine stated that it is impossible to acquire traditional funding because games like Monkey Island and Day of the Tentacle just aren't being made anymore.

The studio has looped in Kickstarter which recently funded the new documentary Minecraft: The Story of Mojang. The Double Fine game will be documented as well and it seems obvious that Ron Gilbert is involved.

Double Fine will use Kickstarter to gather funds for the game, offering the project’s Backers rewards in exchange for their contribution. Rewards include advance access to the game, original art from its development, and a bowling night out with the team.

Check out all the details here.
