We have seen this rather common procedure a few times before by now. Many publishers now include online passes in the form of download codes that come in copies of new games, to prevent used game online play at no cost.

EAs project 10 Dollar, Sony's Online Pass, the Rockstar Pass and more are now added to by Ubisoft's version. The Uplay Passport will come in the form of a code and in-game registration which will unlock online features and additional content for new game sales.

If you have a used copy of an upcoming Ubosft title, expect to pay 10 bucks to access these features.
